Sociotechnical Imaginaries: Visual Narratives Behind The Development of Smart Home Technologies
2022
Comics Academic Poster
Fraunhofer FIT and Universität Siegen - Siegburg, DE
This cartoon comic illustrates a group of smart appliances discussing their owners and how humans perceive their electronics. The narrative encourages audiences to contemplate the role of cinema in shaping perceptions of technology. Concepts such as sociotechnical imaginaries help elucidate the relationship between technology users and their viewpoints. This academic poster is a component of my doctoral research on smart home technologies. This poster focuses on ways to make traditionally static displays more engaging and interactive for viewers. In this instance, I explored comic visual language to capture the audience's attention.
