This poster employs an ecological metaphor to highlight the contrast between a top-down approach to technology design and a more inclusive, collaborative method. A top-down and exploitative model, similar to user-centred design, resembles the uniformity of a monoculture, often leading to ecological disasters. Conversely, a collaborative approach, such as co-design, fosters a variety of perspectives and social values, much like a polyculture that enriches the soil and sustains different life forms. Relying on a single dominant narrative to conceptualise technology is overly limiting, particularly given the complexities of today's global issues. It is vital to cultivate alternative and diverse visions.
