This illustration series demonstrates how cinema has depicted human-AI interactions. Based on exploratory research with feature films from 1921 and 2018, each illustration summarises the five identified categories of interaction between human characters and intelligent machine characters: (1) workers vs. automation, (2) human vs. space robots, (3) human curiosity towards the millennium robots, (4) humans being critical of humanoid robots, (5) humans and machines integrated into a single bodily form.
